At Dianella Secondary College, we believe that every student should feel a strong sense of belonging and connection to our school community. Through various programs and opportunities, we encourage students to build meaningful relationships, develop life skills, and grow into confident, compassionate individuals.

Our Houses

Our house system fosters school spirit and friendly competition, giving students a sense of identity and camaraderie. Students are assigned to one of four houses:

Throughout the year, students participate in house events, from sports carnivals to academic challenges, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute and succeed.

GEM: Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness

Every day at Dianella Secondary College, students participate in GEM (Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness) sessions. These dedicated sessions are designed to help students appreciate what they have, develop empathy for others, and practice mindfulness to manage stress and emotions. The daily focus on these core values fosters emotional well-being and supports positive mental health.

The Resilience Project

At Dianella Secondary College, resilience is key to personal growth. Through The Resilience Project, we provide students with practical tools to build mental resilience, develop positive relationships, and navigate life’s challenges. This program is based on evidence-based strategies that promote emotional well-being, gratitude, and mindfulness.

The Aspire Program

Our Aspire Program is designed to inspire students to pursue excellence in all areas of their academic and personal lives. This program offers enrichment opportunities for high-achieving students, encouraging them to set ambitious goals, engage in critical thinking, and develop leadership skills. Aspire students are given tailored support to help them thrive and reach their full potential.

Student Leadership Opportunities

We believe that every student has the potential to lead. At Dianella Secondary College, we offer a range of Student Leadership opportunities that allow students to step up, represent their peers, and make a meaningful impact on the College community. From Student Council and House Captains to leading initiatives in areas like sustainability, student well-being, and event planning, there are numerous ways for students to get involved, develop leadership skills, and be a positive force in our College.
