  • Student Wellbeing Officer – Our Student Wellbeing Officer provides support to help students navigate challenges, build positive relationships and develop strategies to support their wellbeing.

Learning Support

Our Learning Support Team works closely with students who may need extra assistance in their academic journey. This includes:

  • Access to Specialist Support Teachers and Education Assistants for personalised learning strategies.
  • Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet specific needs.
  • In-class support for students requiring additional guidance.
  • Small group sessions such as MacqLit, a structured reading intervention program that helps low-progress readers. MacqLit focuses on the key elements of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, ensuring students build a strong foundation in literacy skills.

Pastoral Care

We believe that emotional and social well-being are as important as academic success. Our Pastoral Care program is designed to nurture each student’s personal development in a supportive environment. Through regular check-ins, group activities, and individual sessions, we help students build resilience, develop leadership skills, and maintain positive relationships.

We also collaborate with Youth Focus to provide additional wellbeing support and opportunities for students to develop positive mental health and wellbeing strategies. This partnership strengthens our whole-school approach to supporting students and ensuring they have access to trusted people and services when they need them.

At Student Central, every student matters, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels valued, supported, and ready to succeed.
