About our College – ‘Calm, Achieve, Respect, Engage’
Dianella Secondary College is innovative and dynamic with students at our heart. With a real focus on relationships, our professional staff are committed to ensuring exceptional learning opportunities exist for our students. Our college is proud to commit to full implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) by 2026 in line with our Business Plan. Throughout this journey, we educate our community on the principles of CARE and provide explicit learning opportunities for our staff and students. We have a strong focus on student voice, and our CARE values have been captured from their perspective. Our goal is to foster a positive and inclusive environment for all and ensure that every member of our college is equipped to make positive choices each and every day.
Dianella Secondary College, situated in Perth’s northern suburbs, is a rich and vibrant multi-cultural setting with a proud history of producing successful and committed community members. Students have access to a varied curriculum that provides them with the opportunity to explore and develop their own individual talents and passions. We provide engaging courses across all Learning Areas from Years 7-12 in The Arts, English, Health & Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Science, Technology, and Vocational Education and Training. Dianella Secondary College also offers an elite Soccer Academy. Participating students work on their individual skills and techniques, team strategies and tactics while focusing on their personal and social skills to develop them as confident and respectful leaders.
Our innovative STEM Academy boasts a newly-built (2025) specialist facility, affording an integrated approach to learning that combines key elements of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Participating students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, working in collaboration with various universities including ECU (Edith Cowan University). Whilst immersed in a creative environment, students are encouraged and motivated to find solutions to real problems both locally and globally, as they address the requirements of the WA and Australian curriculum.
In preparation for further studies or employment, a wide range of ATAR courses, Vocational Education and Training courses at Certificate level II and III are on offer to Year 11 and 12 students. There is also opportunity to access school-based traineeships as well as scope to engage in courses at TAFE or with a private provider and still be enrolled at Dianella Secondary College. We hold a proud partnership through the New North Education Initiative (Morley Senior High School, Girrawheen Senior High School, Eastern Hills Senior High School and Balga Senior High School), allowing the unique opportunity for students to access a wider breadth of courses with specialist teachers across five different campuses and facilities.
We are proud partners with local business, universities and organisations and greatly value ongoing connections and strong relationships as we continue to work together for the benefit of all students in support of ambition that is unlimited.
